About Me

Welcome to our 5th Grade class! This will be my 10th year teaching in Florida. I also taught for 2 years in Michigan before moving down here with my husband. I taught in Palm Beach County and Santa Rosa County before moving to Manatee two years ago. Most of my experience is in 5th Grade. I love working with students at this age level. 

For the past two years I have been lead teacher for the 5th Grade team and a teacher representative on the Instructional Leadership Team at Bayshore Elementary. In Santa Rosa County I was nominated for Teacher of the Year. I have lead professional development groups and have helped facilitate planning across grade levels. Most recently, I have attended training on Whole Brain Teaching which I implemented this year. This philosophy of teaching not only helps to engage students but also helps build community. My students and I love it!

My husband and I have three adult children, Kaitlin, Jake, and Brittany. Brittany was recently married in April and Jake is getting married in September. We also have a 120 pound Italian Mastiff named Bear who we adopted in February from our neighbors after they needed to go into an assisted living facility. He is a big baby. I have tons of Bear stories to share with the class! We are huge Tampa Bay Bucs fans and have season tickets. Go Bucs! We also enjoy spending time on our boat.

This will be my first year teaching at Harvey. We live just 5 miles from the school and I am excited to be teaching in our community! I can't wait to meet you!
